We require that our participants purchase travel medical insurance for their trip and highly recommend plans that also protect your tuition investment. We recommend plans from AIG Travel Guard, one of the industry’s leading providers of travel insurance plans.

Reasons to purchase travel insurance:

  1. Comprehensive Medical Insurance
Many health insurance policies do not cover international medical evacuation or specific injuries. For example, scuba accidents are often excluded in medical coverage.
  2. International Coverage
Many health insurance policies will not cover costs incurred outside of the USA or international emergency medical transportation costs. In particular, emergency medical transportation costs are typically very expensive.
  3. Primary Medical Coverage with No Deductible
The "My Travel Guard" plan offers primary medical and evacuation coverage with no deductible if you purchase those upgrades.
  4. Protect Your Investment
Because of the seasonal nature of our programs, we cannot refund deposit or tuition fees due to cancellation for any reason. Trip insurance can protect your tuition investment in the event that a medical problem or family emergency prevents your son or daughter from participating. The "My Travel Guard" plan also has a Cancel for Any Reason upgrade that provides 75% reimbursement if you cancel for any reason up to 48 hours before trip departure (upgrade must be purchased within 15 days of initial trip deposit). The "Pack N Go" plan does not cover any reimbursement for trip deposit or tuition.
  5. Reasonably Priced Options
It's inexpensive! Plans start at $50 and increase as dictated by the amount of tuition and medical coverage you choose.

Which Travel Guard Plan is best for you?

We recommend the plan 'My Travel Guard.' Alternatively, the minimum coverage we require is the 'Pack 'N Go' plan.

My Travel Guard

If purchased within 15 days of your deposit, you may also add cancel for any reason up to 48 hours before your trip departure and pre-existing conditions coverage.
