“This trip was such an amazing experience. I made so many great friends and the entire group got so close in just 13 days. My diving improved so much and becoming an Emergency First Responder and rescue diver was extremely rewarding. The activities, such as visiting the donkey sanctuary and windsurfing, were amazing. I loved my time in Bonaire and will take away new friends and a greater confidence in my diving skills. Itinerary

Day 1-4

Dive right in

After settling into your home for the next 12 days, gear up and get ready to dive right in. With your dive skills refreshed you’ll move right into the Advanced Open Water course to learn the nuances of underwater navigation and how to perfect your buoyancy. On the surface, venture to the port town of Kralendijk – Bonaire’s capital. This beautiful and friendly town, with buildings painted in pink, orange and lime green pastels, is an idyllic Caribbean paradise. Look for signs that say ‘Aki ta Gang Kuminda Krioyo,’ which means local Creole specialties are on the menu.

Day 5-7

The ultimate spot to earn your PADI specialties

By the time you’ve completed your Advanced Open Water course it will be apparent why Bonaire is known as a ‘Diver’s Paradise.’ With fringing reefs and world-class shore diving, Bonaire is unmatched in the western hemisphere. Shift gears to focus on the Rescue Diver and Emergency First Responder courses – the EFR course teaches you basic first aid and CPR, important skills both in and out of the water. Rescue Diver is one of the cornerstones of this entire adventure, and you’ll learn how to prevent problems underwater, and how to recognize and respond to emergencies and first aid procedures for dive-related incidents. You’ll also help restore the pristine reefs of Bonaire by spending a morning working with a local dive organization that specializes in coral reef conservation.

Day 8-12

See donkeys, flamingoes and too many fish to count

During your last days of program, there’s no shortage of topside activities! From windsurfing in the world-famous Lac Lagoon and visiting the Bonaire Donkey Sanctuary, to hiking in Washington-Slagbaai National Park. As you pack up your dive gear to fly home, reflect on everything you’ve accomplished in the past 12 days and know you’ve taken the next step in your diving career.
