Junior Caribbean Dive Instructor

Junior Caribbean Dive Instructors work alongside a dive instructor and skipper to lead programs and gain experience as a dive instructor.

Junior Caribbean Dive Instructors supervise students 24/7, facilitate group dynamics, assist students with cooking and cleaning duties, support sail training and other program activities. They will work as part of a team in leading Open Water and Advanced Open Water courses for students on liveaboard programs, based out of St. Martin. For these programs, students and instructors live aboard catamarans for the duration of the program, so someone with experience living in close quarters is a plus.

Qualifications

• PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor certification with active teaching status.
• Demonstrated success working on diverse teams with a collaborative mindset.
• Able to participate in outdoor adventure activities such as hiking, snorkeling and community service activities.
• Great communication skills and a professional demeanor to serve as a Broadreach ambassador.
• Must be able to attend staff training in St. Martin in early June.
• Availability late May – mid-August required
• Comfortable living and working in a group environment with more rustic living conditions. E.g camp, hostel, liveaboard boat.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working as a dive guide is preferred.
• Previous experience working with teens or young adults, preferably in a camp or 24/7 setting and facilitating positive group dynamics.
• Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification or higher (or willingness to obtain certification) preferred.
