If you’re a certified scuba diver, you’ve probably got a wish list of dive destinations you’re dying to visit. And if you’re anything like us, Indonesia is near the top of your list! The waters surrounding Bali and Komodo, two of Indonesia’s most iconic islands, are home to extraordinary marine life. Spot majestic manta rays, enigmatic mola molas (sunfish) and schools of brightly colored fish as they swim amongst vibrant coral formations in Bali. Meanwhile, Komodo’s nutrient-rich currents attract reef sharks, sea turtles, dazzling nudibranchs, and the rare pygmy seahorse to its dramatic underwater landscapes. Our Bali & Komodo program combines exploration, scuba diving, and cultural discovery in one of the most breathtaking destinations on Earth.

This Broadreach scuba adventure is an immersive journey from the lush landscapes of Bali to the remote and rugged beauty of Komodo National Park. World-Class Diving

With approximately 28 dives across Bali and Komodo, students explore numerous world-class sites, each teeming with marine biodiversity. Highlights include:

• Nusa Penida – Home to mesmerizing manta rays and the elusive mola mola.
• Menjangan Island – A pristine marine sanctuary where students take part in underwater marine debris collection.
• USAT Liberty Wreck – One of the world’s most famous wreck dives, brimming with vibrant coral and marine life.
• Komodo National Park – A UNESCO World Heritage Site offering dramatic underwater landscapes, rich biodiversity, and encounters with reef sharks, sea turtles, and colorful macro life.

Liveaboard in Komodo: A Diver’s Paradise

One of the most thrilling parts of this adventure is spending five days aboard a liveaboard vessel in Komodo National Park. Living on the water allows back-to-back dives, breathtaking sunsets, and stargazing from the deck. Students wake up to the sound of waves and dive straight into some of the world’s most pristine reefs.

PADI Certifications and Specialties

Divers on this program will advance their skills by earning their PADI Advanced Open Water certification along with specialty certifications such as:

• AWARE Dive Against Debris – Participate in marine conservation by removing debris from the ocean.
• AWARE Coral Reef Conservation – Learn about reef ecosystems and how to protect them.
• PADI Fish ID – Enhance knowledge of the diverse marine species encountered throughout the trip.

Beyond Diving: Culture, Conservation, and Exploration

While diving is the heart of this adventure, students also engage in cultural and conservation activities, including:

• Sunrise Hike to Mount Batur – Witness the sun rise over a volcanic crater lake, an unforgettable sight.
• Temple Visits & Traditional Fire Dancing – Experience Bali’s rich spiritual and artistic heritage.
• Cooking Classes & Local Markets – Learn to prepare traditional Balinese dishes.
