Broadreach Adventures offers immersive, international programs for middle and high school students. Since 1993, students have traveled to over 40 countries on Broadreach trips. Our programs include liveaboard sailing programs and land based programs around the world. This position correlates to our land based programs, focused on ecology, wildlife and conservation, and based primarily in Costa Rica, Ecuador and Bahamas.
Our mission is to challenge and inspire participants to learn, grow, build new skills and become better global citizens through hands-on discovery, travel and interaction with the world’s oceans, ecosystems and wildlife.
Broadreach Instructors are expected to educate, mentor and inspire students every day. This is a 24/7 position with limited free time or personal space. Broadreach Instructors also need to be energetic and empathetic role models who excel in building meaningful relationships with young adults.
Leading a Broadreach trip is a demanding, but also rewarding experience as you travel and mentor a group of students. Our programs are typically co-ed and each group will have 8-12 students with two instructors. Program Instructors will be based in Costa Rica, Ecuador or Bahamas.
Our instructors will lead programs that range from 12 to 21 days, and instructors will typically lead 2-3 sessions throughout the summer. Instructor contracts include a travel day to their program location before students arrive, prep time and a day to debrief after students depart.
Instructors are required to attend staff training in Raleigh, NC, in the first week of June and then will lead programs with potential dates in June, July and into the first week of August.
Preference given to individuals with personal travel experience or experience leading trips in our current program locations.
